Treehouse Grads Look Forward to a Fresh Start
This fall, many of our 2016 Treehouse graduates will begin a new and exciting chapter in their lives–their first year of college or trade school! With dreams of becoming social workers, auto mechanics, nurses, psychologists, makeup artists, masons, and more, our graduates are eager to begin building promising futures for themselves and their communities.
Before the bustle of freshman year sets in, we asked a few of our grads to take a moment to share their hopes for the year ahead:
“First and foremost, I am excited to do all my music classes because those things I personally chose to do and it’s something that is going to help me pursue my major as well. I am also excited for my first college wrestling season. It’s been my dream and aspiration to be a Gold Medalist on the National Level of wrestling and now that I am here it’s only a matter of time before I get what I have been working for as long as I can remember.”
– Leroy, Grays Harbor College“This year I’m planning to take it one day at a time. I’m trying to stay in the books and stay focused, but have fun at the same time.”
– Student attending Green River College“I’m excited about meeting new people, getting to know another place, being part of another experience, and being another type of student (and not in high school anymore). My goals this year are to go to class every single day and not miss one! I also want to be involved in a lot of activities to get to know new people.”
– Shirley, Seattle Central College
“My goal for freshman year is to study hard and get good grades, utilize all resources available and to have fun!”
– Student attending Washington State University“With the beginning of my first year of Green River College I plan to take the opportunities given to me and use them to my fullest potential. This new way of life will be great and hopefully, I’ll find myself in the process.”
– Justin, Green River College“I am really excited to start college, my new job, and move into my own place!”
– Student attending Seattle Central College
Although this new season in life brings a lot of change, our graduates don’t have to worry about facing any of it alone. Our Education Specialists will continue to provide encouragement, resources, and support to help get students settled and connected on their new campuses.
We couldn’t be more proud of our graduates as they approach this new season and can’t wait to see what accomplish this year!
