The Treehouse Store

COVID-19 Updates

Operations Update
In response to the Stay at Home Order from the Governor, the Treehouse office will be closed until further notice as staff continue to work remotely. We will be answering phone calls during our normal hours, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Friday.

In addition, the Treehouse Store will be closed for all in-person shopping until further notice. While the store is closed for in-person shopping, please email store@treehouseforkids.org for information about submitting an online request to be picked up at the 2100 Building.

At this time the Treehouse Store is not accepting clothing, toys and other material donations. We are accepting online donations to fund immediate needs—such as rent assistance, laptops and cell phones. We appreciate all the support and generosity from our community and look forward to returning to our regular operations soon.

For the latest updates on any store and office closures, stay tuned to our social media or visit treehouseforkids.org/contact.

Preventative Tips
The best guidance for all of us remains: wash your hands often, avoid touching your face and if you feel ill, stay home except to get medical care. For additional information, visit health care providers such as Kaiser Permanente and Premera Blue Cross, as well as public health agencies the CDC and Public Health – Seattle King County.

Every Child Deserves the Essentials

Children, youth and young adults who have experienced foster care and their caregivers can shop for high quality clothing, shoes, school supplies, toys, books, free tickets to events and other essentials in the Treehouse Store, formerly known as The Wearhouse.

Our store carries clothes for infants, children and teens in all sizes. We work closely with our community to ensure that items reflect current trends, brands and fashions, along with the essentials everyone needs.

The Treehouse Store FAQ

When is the Treehouse Store open?

Because of the pandemic, the Treehouse Store will be closed for all in-person shopping until further notice. Email store@treehouseforkids.org for information about submitting an online request to be picked up at the 2100 Building.

How often can I shop at the Treehouse Store?

Treehouse referred youth can shop at the Treehouse Store up to 3 times per year (maximum of one visit per month, please). In December, youth can use one of their 3 annual visits to shop our special selection of holiday gifts. Additionally, caregivers can get an extra visit for each new youth placed in their care within one month of placement. During a youth’s birthday month, they can pick out one extra item.

Who can come shopping in the Treehouse Store?

In order to shop for a Treehouse-eligible child, you just need to be the listed caregiver and bring a picture ID. We ask that caregivers are present when shopping for younger kids; kids in your care who are 13 and older are welcome to shop by themselves with picture ID. You are also welcome to bring your non-Treehouse-eligible kids with you, but please understand that we cannot provide childcare while you shop.

Caseworkers and other adults may also shop for eligible Treehouse youth as long as the youth’s primary caregiver has called us in advance to give approval.

Teens shopping on their own are welcome to bring a friend or two along, but if the store is busy, we may ask friends to wait in our lobby.

What kinds of free tickets are available at the Treehouse Store and how can I request them?

You can pick up tickets (limit of 2 tickets per Treehouse youth, please) at the Information and Resources desk in the Treehouse Store during one of your regularly scheduled shopping visits.

To view ticket availability and to request tickets online, complete our Ticket and Event Request Form. Submitting a request for tickets does not guarantee a ticket. Please wait for email confirmation.

How long does a shopping visit usually take?

Please allow one hour to shop and arrive at least 30 minutes before we close.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Please bring a photo ID to check in. We also offer an incentive of one extra item if you bring your own reusable bags.

How often do you get new stuff in?

We receive inventory every day and work hard to restock the store after each shopping day.

What if I can’t come shopping during your regular hours?

Please contact us at 206.767.7000.

I just moved placements and have nothing. Do I need to wait until your next shopping day?

No, please contact us to arrange an emergency visit at 206.767.7000.

Do you want the clothes back after my youth has outgrown them?

We would love to have you re-donate items that you are no longer using.

Can I shop for other members of my family when shopping in the Treehouse Store?

Freshly stocked items are available for youth with a Treehouse referral. However, items marked with blue tags can go to support any additional household needs.
