Celebrating 33 Years of Partnership with KIRO Radio
For 33 years, Treehouse has partnered with KIRO Radio to host Holiday Magic. Each year, listeners from across our region come together to support youth in foster care. With their support, kids and young adults have a brighter holiday season. Generous donations provide meaningful holiday gifts, warm essentials from our free store and coaching for youth who are honing in on schoolwork.
“One of our company’s core values is to ‘Improve Lives.’ By helping children and youth in foster care, through the annual Holiday Magic campaign, we proudly make a positive impact on our community,” said Cathy Cangiano, Sr. Vice President and Market Manager. “KIRO Radio covers news that takes place well beyond our region, but at our core, we will always endeavor to meet the needs of our local community. We value our partnership with Treehouse for these 33 years of Holiday Magic, as we work to improve lives together.”
KIRO Radio’s Holiday Magic rings in the holidays with interviews from Treehouse staff, caregivers and youth. Each year, KIRO’s on-air staff deliver the mission, programs and compelling stories to thousands of listeners. The partnership has evolved over the years. Starting as a 24-hour radiothon, volunteers and friends banded together to answer busy phone lines, taking donations. Today, Holiday Magic is a six-week campaign sponsored by Carter Subaru with a focus on storytelling and combining marketing resources. Through the online, digital and social assets, we provide the KIRO audience with easily accessible ways to get involved and hear about all the great things Treehouse and youth in foster care are working on together.
“My wife, Patti, and I have been supporting Treehouse, right along with so many of our generous listeners, since the beginning of their partnership with KIRO,” said Dave Ross, Host of Seattle’s Morning News on KIRO Radio. “Recognizing the need beyond the holidays, we long ago signed up for automatic monthly contributions. We found their back-to-school store and tutoring services have become an essential part of the community’s support for foster children. Every child needs a support system, whatever their circumstances, and we feel a responsibility to help make that happen.”
Thanks so much to the incredible team at KIRO Radio for believing in the spirit of generosity and community. With support from KIRO listeners, Holiday Magic is brightening a 33rd holiday season for youth across Washington state.
