Puget Sound Business Journal: Treehouse CEO Plans Departure After a ‘Transformational’ 24-Year Run
Seattle-based nonprofit Treehouse CEO Janis Avery will step down next spring, the organization announced this week.
After 24 years leading the organization through rapid growth, Avery said it seemed like the right time to take a “restoration break,” and for the foster child-focused nonprofit to get a new chief to lead it into the future.
“I’m treating it as a sabbatical,” Avery said. “My opportunity is to really rest, restore and get advice, read things I’ve been wanting to read and see where I’m drawn next, knowing it will be in the area of social justice and racial equity.”
