annie cole (she/they) joined Treehouse in 2023. They previously served as the Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer and Executive Human Resources Policy Advisor for Snohomish County. As such she was responsible for developing policies and implementing educational training, workshops, programs, etc. to assist the county in addressing and eliminating institutional and structural racism and other forms of oppression.
Using best practices, annie develops strategies and works with internal and external partners to implement them. Believing that “you can’t lead what you haven’t learned,” she works to ensure that leadership engages in expanding their understanding of institutional and structural oppression to enable them to be more effective leaders of this work. In their effort to change systems to be more diverse, equitable and inclusive, annie has worked with non-profits, governments, educational institutions, and grassroots groups.
Along with a deep knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion, annie also has an extensive background in human resources, holds degrees in political science and law and is a member of the Washington State Bar.
