Treehouse Youth Set Goals for 2018
The dawn of a new year inspires many of us to make personal resolutions. This is a familiar practice for students in Treehouse’s Graduation Success program. All year long, these young people meet with a Treehouse Education Specialist to identify goals that are personally meaningful and find support as they work to achieve them.
Our students left us in awe as they bulldozed their way through adversity to accomplish their goals in 2017. So to kick off the new year, we asked our Graduation Success students to share with you what they plan to get done in 2018:
“This year, I want to pass all my classes so I can graduate on time.”
“I would like to continue to improve my English.”
“This year, I’m going to get my GED.”
“In this upcoming year, I would like to join the school’s soccer team.”
“I am going to stay focused on school and continue to stay on track to earn all my credits so I can start next school year as a senior.”
“Get A’s in all my classes for the first time.”
“I didn’t feel like writing it earlier, but I want to be less procrastinate-y.”
“I want to spend more time with my family.”
“I’d like to spend more time on my homework so my grades don’t fall behind.”
“This year I hope to graduate from high school and get a job so I can get my own place.”
“I will maintain good grades, B’s and up. I also want to learn how to get a job and an apartment to become more independent. “
“I am going to get back in shape this year.”
“My goal is to improve my grades and maintain them so I can graduate on time.”
With a world of possibilities awaiting you in 2018, we hope our students help inspire you to remember there is no goal too small or too big. Happy New Year!
