Spokane Group Sends Youth Back to School with New Backpacks

By Dana Petrarca, Treehouse Community Engagement Officer

The Seattle Reproductive Medicine Spokane team hosted a donation drive for Spokane County youth in foster care last summer.

“Our SRM Spokane team really enjoyed using our time and talent to help the youth of Spokane with back-to-school goodies,” said Melanie Mikkelsen, Counselor and Donor Liaison at SRM Spokane. “Even though our staff is small in numbers, it felt great to make a difference to youth who need our support the most.”

Using a wish list provided by Treehouse, Melanie and her team delivered 18 brand new, durable backpacks filled with school supplies.

“The backpacks along with school supplies were very good quality and could not have come at a better time,” said Jeremy Van Dusen, Treehouse’s Education Program Services Manager in Spokane.

We are so grateful to SRM Spokane for getting our teens ready for the school year.

As we expand throughout Washington state, we continue to look for different ways we can partner with our communities. If you live outside of King County, please
