Sharing Our Gratitude This Holiday Season
We have a lot of reasons to be thankful here at Treehouse this holiday season. For the last month, we have been celebrating by sharing our gratitude for our youth, volunteers, donors, caregivers, community partners and more on Facebook and Twitter with our #30daysofthanks posts.
Here’s a collection of some of the posts as we celebrate Thanksgiving and reflect on the wonderful people and organizations we get to work alongside every day.
“I’m thankful for Treehouse youth, who remind me every day what it looks like to value the little things, strive for the big things and keep on going! I also am incredibly thankful for our donors! Prior to working for Treehouse, I worked in public education with at-risk youth for 25-plus years. Imagine my excitement this fall when I had resources for youth for everything from clothes and school supplies to yearbooks and ASB cards to books for college and bus passes. It’s truly incredible to tell a youth or caregiver: ‘Treehouse will eliminate this barrier for you. Don’t worry, we’ve got it!’ And a huge shout out to the fine folks in The Wearhouse and Little Wishes who make all of this happen!”
– Sherry, Treehouse Education Specialist
“I am thankful to my youth for giving me the opportunity to learn new things every day about different jobs, trades and colleges that I never knew about. I also am thankful for Treehouse’s connections to volunteers and job shadow hosts who allow students and myself to explore those different jobs, trades and colleges and learn even more!”
– Liz, Treehouse Education Specialist
“I’m grateful to have been a part of the Treehouse team for the past 12 years, watching all the progress we’ve made. I believe in our mission and marvel at our staff and their sincere dedication. I appreciate Janis, our CEO, and all of her support through the years. I am also thankful for our front desk volunteers. They are so dedicated, caring and smart. They help the back office with all kinds of projects and really are a major asset to Treehouse. We would not be able to provide the level of customer service that we currently provide without them. It truly has been a great place for me to work to utilize more than 50 years of office experience. I am very proud to be here and hope that I can continue to make a contribution to our mission.”
– Sandra, Treehouse Office Coordinator
“I would like to thank my awesome tutor, Leah. She has been working with my youth for two years on math but also supports her with other classes. She is awesome and makes a huge difference for my youth!”
– Mary, Treehouse Education Specialist
As Thanksgiving approaches, we offer our deepest appreciation to each one of our supporters. Your dedication to youth in foster care is what keeps us going.
