My Job at Treehouse Allows Me to Grow and Learn

By Jeremy Van Dusen, Graduation Success Coordinator

I am extremely proud to work at Treehouse. Like myself, every single person who works or volunteers for Treehouse is just as passionate as I am to serve youth in foster care. We help them graduate high school at the same rate as their peers with a plan for the future—a lofty goal.

Treehouse is a true grassroots nonprofit that remains very open minded by promoting equality, being accepting and continuing to be a positive advocate for social justice in the communities where we live and work. Everyone who works for Treehouse exemplifies these same ideals in all they do. Working at Treehouse has given me the opportunity to meet so many amazing people that come from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Treehouse does a great job of hiring people who are passionate and educated—but all of us also have lived experiences that help us relate to the youth we serve with a wide range of differing skill sets. So, whether I’m advocating for a youth or need some specific insight on how to approach a certain situation, I know there is a lot of knowledge and experience that I can lean on for help. The people I work with—and the students we help—never cease to inspire me.

My job at Treehouse allows me to grow and learn as both a person and a professional every day and for that I am thankful.
