GIVING KIDS A CHILDHOOD

Treehouse helps pay for the important childhood experiences that every child deserves.  We provide funding so that kids can engage in the activities and school events that help them succeed—sports, music, camps, school fees, or whatever sparks a youth’s interest or creativity. Research shows that kids who are positively engaged in school and community have better academic and life outcomes.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES, SCHOOL FEES & FREE EVENT TICKETS

All year long, the Treehouse Little Wishes program can help pay for a variety of things that youth need for school and for fun.  From sports fees and music lessons, to Driver’s Ed and ASB cards, Treehouse supports youth getting active and involved with an activity they are passionate about. Treehouse can also help pay for school fees to cover costs associated with graduation, like a cap and gown or senior pictures.  Learn more about extra-curricular activity and school fee funding, as well as free ticket opportunities by clicking the applicable tiles to the left.

SUMMER LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES & SUMMER CAMP

During the summer, Treehouse encourages youth to stay engaged by learning outside the classroom. Summer camp provides a great outlet for kids and teens to make new friends, develop and refine skills, and have fun in a new environment. From sports to arts and leadership based camps; Treehouse can help youth pay for the experience that’s right for their interests and desires.  Summer is also a great time to catch up in school or get ahead in a subject. Treehouse can help you find and pay for summer learning opportunities, like summer school or credit retrieval.  Learn more about summer opportunities for youth by clicking the “Make the Most of Summer” tile to the left.

MAKING THE HOLIDAYS BRIGHTER

The Treehouse Holiday Magic program helps to make the holidays brighter for children and youth in foster care by raising resources from the community to provide a holiday gift to every eligible youth in foster care in Washington State.  The caregiver or youth pick the gift from our gift catalog, and Treehouse ships it directly to the youth’s home.

Who are the Holiday Magic partners?

Treehouse partners with 97.3 FM KIRO Radio, DSHS Children’s Administration and the Boeing Employees Community Fund to identify eligible children and youth, raise the necessary resources, and distribute the gifts to kids in foster care around the state.  Each year, the Holiday Magic program distributes gifts to more than 5,000 foster kids statewide.

How does it work?

In October, caregivers of eligible youth receive a mailing from the Holiday Magic program with all of the details.  Either the caregiver or the youth selects their top gift choices from our gift catalog, and Treehouse ships the gift directly to you.

Who is eligible to receive a gift from Holiday Magic?

Foster children in out-of-home care between October and December in Washington State are eligible to participate in Holiday Magic.  A separate Holiday Magic referral is required and should be submitted by your social worker between October 1 and November 30 or as children enter care.
