Volunteers expand Treehouse’s ability to serve youth impacted by foster care by answering phones, helping with administrative projects, staffing program and fundraising events, sorting and tagging donations in the Wearhouse, helping youth shop for the perfect outfit, serving on the Board of Directors or a committee, and much more.

Make a positive first impression with our clients and visitors by volunteering at our front desk. Volunteers answer the phones, greet guests and provide administrative office support for our programs. This position is ideal for a volunteer who has basic computer skills, excellent phone etiquette, and good customer service skills. Volunteers must commit to one or more regular 9:30 am – 1:30 p.m. or 1:30 – 5:30 p.m. shift each week for a minimum of four months.
The Wearhouse is our free store where foster children and their families shop for free for new and gently used clothing, school supplies, toys and other essentials. Volunteers help by sorting donations, tagging merchandise and assisting customers and staff in the store. Weekday volunteers must commit to a weekly or bi-weekly schedule over the course of three months and Saturday volunteers must commit to one shift per month.
Wearhouse volunteer shifts are available: Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday evenings from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.; and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Throughout the year the need arises for volunteers to assist at special events or with projects in the office. After attending an orientation volunteers will be notified of upcoming needs and can sign up if interested and available. This is a great option for someone looking for a flexible volunteer commitment.
Donation drive hosts are invaluable to Treehouse as they help stock the store with items that foster kids need and want. Volunteers coordinate drives at their workplace, school, place of worship or host an event to collect items and funds to support Treehouse programs. We can provide materials to add to your drive’s success, but the possibilities are endless!
The Treehouse Learning Center is open Monday through Thursday from 3-6pm to all Treehouse middle and high school students for drop-in homework help. Tutors coach students in specific subjects, help build their study skills, and lead fun and educational workshops after school.
All of our Treehouse fundraising events rely on volunteers who serve as Table Captains, gathering friends, family and colleagues to learn more about kids in foster care, their needs and their inspiring stories.
