New Shoes
It’s hard to concentrate on long division in short shoes.
At the beginning of second semester, math takes a sharp turn toward tough. And the foster kid’s shoes, which were hand-me-downs in September, start squeezing her toes. A lot. But given the cost of shoes and the rate at which her feet are growing, she’ll just have to tuck her toes and wait for the next pair of hand-me-downs. That’s an equation she understands. Treehouse gives kids new shoes because state reimbursement covers only about 60% of foster parents’ costs, and shoes aren’t always at the top of the list.
Your support helps Treehouse kids stretch their toes – and their wings.
